Sony sabía que su nuevo dispositivo ha de entrar por los ojos y que PSP, en su momento, presentaba la pantalla más espectacular posible. En esta ocasión han seguido el mismo camino y el centro de nuestra PS Vita es su pantalla de 5 pulgadas y 960 × 544 pixels de resolución.

¿Qué tipo de PS Vita hay?

Hay dos modelos de la PlayStation Vita: está el modelo Fat y el modelo Slim. No se fabricaron más versiones debido a sus bajas ventas. También puede considerarse otra PlayStation Vita la PlayStation TV (comercializado en Japón PlayStation Vita TV).

A few days ago Sony announced the new PS Vita (PHC-2000, or Vita 2013). This new device uses an LCD display that replaces the OLED used by the original PS Vita. Both screens are 5″ 960×544. What is the difference between LCD and OLED?

OLED is much more vibrant, has better blacks but the display is more prone to failure and burn-in, + you need a special charging cable and have a blue PS light in your face LCD is less vibrant, more neutral (so you loose the «Vita» look), but will last longer, has longer battery life and has MicroUSB charging port

Can OLED displays be used to slim down a console?

Update: It appears that Sony says an LCD panel can now «realize an image as high quality as that of the OLED panel» – and it allowed them to slim down the console. This is very strange as OLED displays are thinner than LCDs.

Should I get the OLED or LCD Trophy?

OLED is on top. LCD is on bottom. This might be a personal preference, but I like the gold color of the GOLD trophy on the slim better. The gold on the OLED looks more bronze. NOTE: Oh wow, Reddit blurred my image here!
